Mike Janowitz

Holding the drum position in Blue Lunch is Mike Janowitz. Mike's been playing drums for most of his life. Originally turned on to music by the '80's sound of hard-rock groups like Motley Crue, Mike found himself gradually drawn to the sounds of the blues and jazz. Prior to joining Blue Lunch, Mike was a member of Mr. Downchild's Houserockers, with whom he toured and performed extensively.

When not performing with Blue Lunch, Mike is a teacher in the Maple Heights School system. He is the Marching Band Director at Maple Heights High School. Mike and his wife Julie are the parents of a five year-old boy, Mikey, Jr. and have another arrival on the way. More about that to follow.
